The
Symbolon
"Symbolon"
derives from the Greek word
symballein,
literally: "to throw together". In German exists an almost identical word: Zu-
sammen-ballen,
sym -> sam, ballein -> ballen. The German language also preserves that
most archaic indication, or
Symbolon,
of the act of
Zu-sammen-ballen
(
symballein):
the clenching of the Fist (das Ballen der Faust).
. The
Greek and German terms visualize the protistic action inherent in all
symbolism: The conglomeration of a
manifold
of sensory impressions
into a
perceptive
and
conceptual
entity
,
which we mark with a
word.
All our conceptual knowledge consists of immense networks of
symballizations
